My question is – for a patient in moderate to advanced stage, who is typically sedentary, and is first time starting out with this particular type of exercise that is meant to stimulate motor output: is it reasonable to try to achieve 80% effort in one of the first sessions? For my patient, the post exercise fatigue (which sounded like nervous system overload/type fatigue) was very confronting. It left him exhausted and unable to recover for days. This further reduced his overall motivation and trust in the program. What could I have done better to help him manage this fatigue? I would greatly appreciate any pearls of wisdom! Thank you.
